COVID 19 Testing

  • Testing for COVID-19 - The Nose Swab: Children’s Hospital has by-appointment only drive-through DNA(PCR) testing for children with Covid-19 symptoms. You will need a doctor’s order from Kiwi to get an appointment. Call us for any questions. See below for other testing sites. You can also look up local testing options for all ages, based on your zip code, at the CA.gov website: click here.
  • Antibody Testing for Covid-19 - The Blood Test: there is no indication for antibody testing presently except as directed by a physician for diagnosing Covid-related active symptoms or for research based, community testing. The antibody test results are not fully accurate and additionally, the results are not well understood. It is not known if a postive antibody test confirms immunity to Covid-19.
  • Testing for COVID-19 at Kiwi  - we are conducting Covid PCR testing,by appointment only. The tests go to Quest or Labcorp. Results take 2-5 days, usually 2 days.  The test is an anterior nose swab (very well tolerated by children!).  It is conducted outside and by the parent or older child with our instructions and supervision.  Please call for an appointment and any questions.
